Unist’ot’en Blockade Solidarity Snowball Fight, 1/5/13

Portland Rising Tide responded to a request for solidarity action to take place on Saturday, January 5th with the Unist’ot’en  Clan at Chevron Stations across North America. The Unist’ot’en clan has been maintaining a blockade camp against the construction of the Pacific Trails Pipeline project in the unceded Wet’suwet’en territory which is situated in Canadian British Columbia. Chevron had purchased 50% of the PTP project shares in Decemeber after others had divested from investment due to what may have been mounting pressure from grassroots resistance.

Portland Rising Tide shutdown the Chevron Gas station on MLK and Fremont with snow barracades at the entrances and then held an hour long snowball fight before police showed up.
